Exploring Solidarity through Theatre

Ignite Applied Theatre Executive Director, Ann Kinnebrew was invited to be part of a 5-day residency program presented by Donkey Saddle Projects,

Ann, along with participants from several other community-based organizations, discussed how to build solidarity and advocate for all human rights where they are being compromised or violated. Through the rehearsal and production of the staged reading of the play, "There is a Field", the participants were able to share the experience and continue the discussion with the larger Gainesville Community. Ann commented,

I was so impressed by how effective it was to use a beautifully scripted piece as the basis for community building and conversation.
